Team-
I wanted to send a quick update: We just got word that oral arguments
in our U.S. Supreme Court case have been scheduled for December 1,
2021.
That means that in just over two months, we will stand before the
Supreme Court to defend abortion rights yet again.

I hope you'll make a gift today to support the Center's critical work
in Mississippi and around the world.

The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, challenges
Mississippi's law banning abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. And
while the case concerns a law in Mississippi, it is about so much
more.
In its opening brief, the state explicitly and repeatedly asked the
Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and rule that there is no right to
abortion protected by the U.S. Constitution.

The stakes couldn't be higher. Give now to defend abortion access for
all.

Mississippi is far from the only state making a run at Roe. Earlier
this month, the Supreme Court allowed an extreme ban on abortion to go
into effect in Texas-and, as a result, most abortion services
have come to an abrupt halt in the state.
Anti-abortion lawmakers across the country are running
rampant-passing increasingly extreme bans and restrictions and
making 2021 the most devastating legislative session for abortion in
decades.
We shouldn't have to defend an established right again and again in an
endless game of Whack-a-Mole. That's why we are working on all fronts
to defend our fundamental rights, including fighting for federal
protections for abortion access by advancing the Women's Health
Protection Act.

We must stand strong. I hope we can count on your continued support
today and in the weeks ahead as we count down to our day before the
Court this December.
