Question: Why did Arizona and Georgia flip blue in 2020, but Florida got even redder than it was in 2016 or 2018?

The answer is simple: Right now, Florida has fewer young Latinx voters.

There’s a voter registration deadline on October 4th in Miami and other Florida metro areas. Can you donate right away to help us register as many young Latinx voters as possible?

Young Latinx voters were instrumental in delivering victories for Democrats in former Republican strongholds like Arizona and Georgia. But in Florida, there are fewer young Latinx voters compared to other swing states:

State Percent of 2020 Latino voters under age 30 Percent of 2020 Latino voters over age 60
Arizona 27.5% 21.5%
Georgia 31.4% 14.5%
Florida 16.7% 28.5%

There are BIG elections coming up in Florida in 2022. We need to defeat Ron DeSantis before he has the chance to launch his 2024 presidential campaign, we need to send Senator Marco Rubio to an early retirement, and we need to defend vulnerable House Democrats to protect our majority.

If we want Democrats to have a shot at winning these races, we need to dramatically increase the young Latinx vote share of the electorate. Luckily, at Voto Latino, we’re experts at getting young Latinos registered and mobilized to vote. Nearly 80% of the voters we registered in 2020 cast a ballot in the November election -- and half of them were first-time voters!

There’s a critical voter registration deadline on October 4 in major Florida metro areas like Miami and Orlando, so we need to work quickly. Every $18 we raise helps us register and mobilize one more Latinx voter and gets us one step closer to finally flipping Florida blue.

How many voters can you help us register today?

To win in 2022, we need to get serious about investing in Florida now. So please, chip in whatever you can to help us get it done.
