Folks,

Last week, my colleagues and I introduced the Freedom to Vote Act — a critical piece of legislation to ensure we continue to have free and fair elections in this country. It’s our best chance of combatting the new anti-voting laws we’re seeing pop up from state legislatures across the country, including in Montana.

The Freedom to Vote Act requires states to have sufficient early voting periods, same day voter registration, and strengthens our vote-by-mail systems. It will protect our democracy and our sacred right to vote.

I’ll be honest though, we’re worried that Republicans won’t even allow us to have a full debate in front of the American people on this important bill. Mitch McConnell and his GOP colleagues have blocked the past two attempts to debate any voting rights legislation, and there’s no reason to believe they won’t try and deny us a vote again.

That’s why I’m asking you for your signature on my petition to demand that Republicans stop obstructing, start governing, and allow the bill a vote on the Senate floor.

ADD YOUR NAME

Without at least 10 Republican votes, this bill is likely to die in the Senate. We just can’t afford that, especially as GOP-led state legislatures around the country work to restrict voting access.

Please add your voice to the chorus of Americans saying that enough is enough — we need voting rights legislation now.

Thanks for voicing your support. I’m proud to have you on our team.
