Dear Subscriber,
For the past 45 years, City Limits has empowered communities and lifted the voices of the most vulnerable New Yorkers. The deadly torrential rains we endured on Sept.1st reminded us that immigrants and lower-income renters disproportionately experience the most harmful effects of climate change. We want to expand our climate change coverage to meet the greatest need facing our city.
Thanks to Report for America, we brought in a reporter dedicated to covering climate change, the environment and health, topics that are interwoven and have been brought to the forefront by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent extreme weather events. Our new RFA reporter will allow us to double our coverage on climate change. But doing so is not cheap.
We have a 50% match to meet to support our new reporter. Help us reach our $5,000 goal by the end of September. Our RFA corps member will be responsible for providing the most vulnerable communities with critical information, set the standards of transparency and accountability for our policy makers, and shine a light on the risks our city is susceptible to.
