Here’s the reality of the situation, friend:

The odds of keeping the House of Representatives majority in this midterm election are not on our side. But we can and will protect it if we focus on taking back seats in competitive districts.

New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District should be one of our top targets. Democrats winning that seat in 2018 helped us flip the House. We can take it back again now.

Gabe Vasquez can win this seat. I’ve known Gabe for a long time. I know he’ll put in the work to get it done — and he needs us to join him in that effort. That’s why I’m rolling out my endorsement of him now - early in this race, because we have no time to lose.

Everything Gabe does is rooted in his passion for the people and places of Southern New Mexico. He’s a proven fighter for economic justice, equal pay for equal work, affordable housing, and high-quality healthcare for all. Gabe knows how to bring people together and deliver real results.

Republicans will throw everything and the kitchen sink at Gabe to stop him from taking this seat. Meanwhile, Gabe’s already working to build a people-powered campaign to fight back and win. I’ve known Gabe for a long time. We've worked together on projects to protect the rich cultural heritage and beauty of New Mexico’s lands, like designating the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks a National Monument. I’ve watched him grow as a leader, bringing his experience and passion to the Las Cruces City Council to make life better for Southern New Mexico’s families.

Now, he’s ready to make a difference for New Mexico’s 2nd District and give everyone an opportunity to succeed.
