When I launched my campaign for South Jersey, I knew this journey wouldn’t be easy. But easy was never my thing.

When I was a 19-year-old kid, I was beaten, handcuffed, and falsely arrested by plainclothes police officers. This incident only inspired my career in law enforcement and commitment to racial justice.

Since then, I dedicated 27 years of my career as a law enforcement officer, prosecutor, and now, civil rights attorney. I’ve fought like hell to shake up the system, demand accountability, and stand up for the little guy — and that’s what I plan to do in Congress.
