We’re coming up on the end of Q3, John, and we want to be direct with you about the challenges we’re facing here at Truth to Power HQ.
It’s a tough month to be a political campaign, in the midst of a tough year. Across the country, Republicans are outraising Democrats in anticipation of an election year that could determine the future of our razor-thin margins in the House and Senate.
For folks like us who are working to build a long-term political movement, it’s left us grappling for answers. Here at Truth to Power HQ, we’ve contemplated a number of reasons: Could our supporters be burned out on politics? Do people think that we have more time than we really do before the 2022 midterms?
It is beyond important that we find ways to take care of ourselves in a never-ending cycle of news and politics. And no BS—we’re worried that we’re all feeling the burn out. That’s why we think that our work is so important, John, so we can take on the lion's share of fundraising to support good people, even in an off year. It’s why our work doesn’t stop, and why we’re here today.
