Friend,

I’m at a loss for words reflecting on the tremendous outpouring of support that you all showed yesterday.

Each and every year since I suffered my injuries in Afghanistan, the anniversary of the day I was blown up has always been deeply personal for me. But that was especially the case this year, when Joe Biden turned his back on Afghanistan veterans like me - and more importantly on Americans and our allies currently in Afghanistan. He left so many of us wondering whether or not this was all even worth it.

I’m so grateful to know that there are kind-hearted Americans like you out there offering your support. Thank you to all of you who took the time to sign the card that my team gave me, and to all of you who answered the call to help keep this mission on track.
As you saw from my family and team who reached out, we haven’t been able to focus on fundraising as much as usual given the unique circumstances that Joe Biden has unleashed overseas, and we still have a big financial deadline coming up next week.

Thank you again for all of the support,
SSG Brian Mast, U.S. Army (ret.)
