Ayanna Gregory, Singer/Songwriter
Ayanna Gregory, daughter of Dick Gregory [[link removed]] , is an educator and human rights activist who was raised with a deep awareness and concern for human rights. With her father being one of the most influential people of the 1960’s Civil Rights Movement, Ayanna followed in his footsteps. In 1990, Ayanna became recognized as a powerful and progressive voice as a student activist at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Later in the 1990s, Ayanna shared her musical talents with the world. Her debut album, Beautiful Flower , was released in 2003.
Joseph Green, Spoken Word Artist
Joseph Green is a motivational speaker, educator, trainer, professional storyteller, award-winning spoken word poet. Joseph’s work has been featured in several media outlets such as UpWorthy, PBS NewsHour, and NPR. With a background in theatre and performance poetry, Joseph intertwines storytelling and spoken word poetry to inspire his audience to join him on a journey of self-care, self-awareness, self-forgiveness, and paying your blessings forward to make a world a better place for everyone. He believes in the power of stories and the sharing of lived experiences as tools for connectivity and community building.
Kenneth Solano, Garífuna musician
Kenneth Solano is a Garífuna singer and songwriter whose songs principally focus on the struggles of the Garífuna people, in particular their ongoing struggle against the Honduran government, which is trying to dispossess them of their land, their ancestral inheritance, and their culture. His lyrics speak out against the government's efforts to exterminate the Garífuna people, making him a representative of his people musically speaking.
