New data published [[link removed]] by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau shows that 28 percent of manufactured homeowners reported being behind on their housing payments as of the end of 2020. This statistic is especially striking when measured against comparable rates for residents of single-family homes and small-to-mid-sized multi-unit apartments, which were 12 and 18 percent, respectively. This panel will discuss potential reasons for this disparity and how we might mitigate it as residents, practitioners, and policymakers.

Featured panelists include representatives from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Join us as we bring together representatives from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and housing policymakers and practitioners to discuss policy efforts to ensure an economic recovery that protects manufactured housing. This panel will expand our knowledge and understanding of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s recently published Manufactured Housing Market 2022-2024 Plans, which were prepared in adherence to the FHFA’s Duty to Serve program. Additionally, experts in policy and public finance, as well as nonprofit and municipal housing agency leaders, will discuss the implications of the newly released documents in their respective communities.

Reimagining the Future of Manufactured Housing

3:00 PM ET, Wednesday, September 22 | Register Here [[link removed]]

NEW! Featured panelists include representatives from ROC USA, Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services, Inc., Network for Oregon Affordable Housing and Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati

Over the next year, Prosperity Now will be stepping down from its current role as facilitator of the I'M HOME Conference and I'M HOME Network and Working Groups. During this period, we will be working to transition the network and its accompanying resources to one or more familiar stakeholders who will continue the work to ensure that manufactured housing communities and homeowners continue to thrive. We invite you to join this session for an open discussion on this transition and how manufactured housing might be reimagined to expand its reach, focusing on “big picture” ideas that affect the industry and residents nationwide.
