Hi Friend, did you hear that Abbott's latest irregular legislative session starts today?

Friend, this is nothing more than a power grab by a governor who consistently refuses to put Texans first. But while Abbott and his cronies are prioritizing partisan gerrymandering, attacks on trans kids, and rolling back protections against COVID-19, our Democratic lawmakers are working hard to protect our rights.

Here are five ways Texas Democrats are fighting back against Republicans attacks this special session:

- We’re continuing to lead the national struggle for voting rights -- and ratcheting up the pressure on Congress to pass their new Freedom to Vote Act into law.

- We’re battling it out for common-sense policies to protect Texans from COVID-19 -- especially since Abbott is attempting to outlaw mask and vaccine mandates this session.

- We’re doing everything we can to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of trans kids across Texas.

- We’re defending Texans’ right to healthcare, whether it’s pushing to get more people health insurance or rallying for abortion rights.

- We’re fighting for the one issue that Texans are most united on -- fixing the grid so that a disaster like February’s doesn’t happen again.

That's the leadership Texans need -- not Abbott’s bad-faith attacks on our rights and our communities. If we keep fighting this hard, we have a serious shot at defeating Abbott next November -- but we’ve got just one year to build the movement to defeat him. So Friend, I’m asking: will you chip in $7 right now to mobilize Texans to vote Abbott out?

Chip in now: [link removed]

We’ve been fighting hard all year to protect our state from our own governor. But 2022 is in sight. Thanks for helping us kick this movement into gear.

In service and hope,
