The third round of expanded Child Tax Credit payments went out to Maryland families last week, marking the halfway point for this crucial relief program.
TEAM DUTCH SURVEY:
How have the Child Tax Credit payments helped you and your family?
There are only three CTC payments left before they expire at the end of the year, but I’m working in Congress to make them permanent, and here’s why:
- Over 1 million Maryland children are eligible for Child Tax Credit. That’s 85% of children in our state who stand to benefit.
- The CTC lifts over 4 million American children out of poverty, including 52,000 Maryland children and cuts child poverty in our state by a third.
- Since the first CTC payments, there’s been a drop in food insufficiency and families have had less difficulty paying for household expenses.
This isn’t just about building back from the pandemic. It’s about strengthening our country’s middle class in a major and lasting way.
I want to hear your thoughts on the expanded Child Tax Credit payments, how they’ve helped your family, and whether you think they should be made permanent. Please fill out our quick, two-question survey here. >>
