John,John Steinbeck captured the life-changing impact of the Dust Bowl summer of 1936 in The Grapes of Wrath. The movie version brought it home even more dramatically. The summer of 1936 has always been considered the worst of the worst.
No longer. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, June through August was the hottest on record in the United States.
The average temperature across the contiguous United States was 74 degrees, surpassing the 1936 summer record when blistering heat resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans and disastrous crop failure.
The statistics for the summer of 2021 are horrendous.
Nearly one in three Americans experienced a weather-related disaster. At least 388 people have died from heat waves, wildfires, hurricanes, and floods since June. And 64% of Americans live in regions that experienced a prolonged heatwave.
SEEC members of Congress are working around the clock to combat these effects of climate change.
But they urgently need our support, John. Can you pitch in with a donation right away to support our SEEC members who are leading the charge on fighting climate change? [[link removed]]

John, the globe is getting hotter. Increasing numbers of Americans are suffering from the devastating impact of extreme weather events. If we don’t act NOW, many regions of our world will be unlivable.
The haunting images of The Grapes of Wrath are being revived in 21st century America. Millions of Americans are suffering as a direct result of climate change and extreme weather.
SEEC members of Congress know we can’t afford to wait any longer. The time for action is now. Will you let them know you’re standing with them? [[link removed]]
Thank you.
