Dear John,
The pandemic is near over, but it's taken a toll on many's mental health. Since we're returning to Harrisburg earlier than originally planned, I was optimistic about voting on important legislation. But instead of bills on additional mental health resources, small business loans, infrastructure, or covid relief Republican lawmakers are challenging the school mask mandate. Because Republicans control both chambers they dictate the legislation that's introduced and have the power to stop the legislation they don't support, like the small business loans our community needs. We cannot put politics before people especially during a pandemic. In the 2022 election, I'm committed to doing everything possible to win back the state legislature, but that starts with your support. I'll update you further on the Republican's political games in Harrisburg, and do everything I can to keep our kids and community safe.
Sincerely, Melissa Rep. Melissa Shusterman Chester and Montgomery Counties |
