Friends,
Abortion access has been chipped away for decades, and though it’s still the law of the land, we’re seeing increasing inaccessibility in many states.
Sadly, the latest abortion ban legislation out of Texas is no exception to this “death by a thousand cuts” approach. In fact, it goes beyond previous bans by empowering a citizen vigilante system.
To be blunt, this legislation is incredibly dangerous; that’s why I applaud the Department of Justice in their lawsuit against the state of Texas.
But we don’t need to wait for a court case to play out to expand access to reproductive healthcare — add your name to mine if you agree that Congress must pass the Women’s Health Protection Act to codify Roe v. Wade into law.
I hope you’ll stand with me on this most important issue — the time to codify Roe is now.
Sincerely,
Madeleine Dean
