Publicity seems to follow the boy and girl geniuses who rise to fame in business, the arts, or politics these days. But what about the more common case of people who don’t succeed all at once, or who do one thing well, and then move on to something much better? At Discovery Institute, our Center on Citizen Leadership has paid much attention to getting young people into public life, but we are beginning to expand our scope.
Please join us for our annual benefit luncheon for the Chapman Center for Citizen Leadership on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6 with keynote speaker Rich Karlgaard, Publisher of _Forbes _magazine, Silicon Valley innovator, columnist, and author of the new book _Late Bloomers_.
Here is what State Senator and Chair to the Chapman Center Hans Zeiger says about it:
_My wife Erin and I listened to Rich Karlgaard's Late Bloomers on audiobook, and I can honestly say that it changed the way I think about the world. Karlgaard challenges aspects of the status quo in culture, business, and education that are overdue for a challenge. He calls into question many of the biases we have long accepted in our society about what success looks like. But he doesn't just question the world as we know it; he also provides very practical wisdom for his readers, especially those who may have discovered their calling a bit later in life, as they seek to navigate their careers. People of all ages, all backgrounds, and all talents have something to offer their fellow human beings, and Rich Karlgaard offers us an inspiring invitation to join in celebrating this truth._
SPACE IS LIMITED FOR THIS EVENT AND REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. All registrations include a $50 tax-deductible donation. For parking we recommend the Olympic Garage, 415 Seneca St, entrance at 5th & Seneca. Valet parking only is available at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for $16.
