John,
Join us in celebrating National Public Lands Day by making a special contribution today to The Trust for Public Land!
Established in 1994 and held every September, National Public Lands Day serves as the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort. This day, “celebrates the connection between people and green space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and health benefits.”
This year, we’ve set a goal of having 220 of our loyal supporters step up and support The Trust for Public Land by September 25 in honor of National Public Lands Day. Your gift will help support our aggressive efforts to permanently protect one million acres of land, 1,000 miles of rivers and streams, and create or connect 1,000 miles of trails and greenways by 2025.
Plus, thanks to our cost-effective methods and long history of forming productive partnerships, every $1 you donate will save $8 worth of land.
Unfortunately, today, 100 million people in America — including 28 million children — don’t have a park close to home. The Trust for Public Land is working to change this situation through our plan to dramatically increase access to parks and open space — improving the quality of life for more than 85 million people in the next four years.
Yet to accomplish this, we must turn to dedicated supporters like you, and others around the United States, to raise the necessary funds to reach our goal. We are dependent upon support from our members for a large portion of our budget.
So please, celebrate National Public Lands Day by joining The Trust for Public Land today.
Sincerely,
Kim Elliot
Director of Membership
