We started Maine Conservation Voters more than 35 years ago to protect the Maine we all love — by holding our lawmakers accountable for their votes on the environment with our yearly Environmental Scorecard.
Today, our scorecard remains one of the most effective tools for informing Maine voters and holding our elected officials accountable to Maine’s treasured environment.
This year’s Environmental Scorecard will be released later this month — helping you know exactly who is fighting for climate and clean energy and working to protect the air, water, wildlife, and forests of this state, and who is just talking a good game.
But we're only able to produce this important scorecard year in and year out because of the support and generosity of caring members like you.
In honor of MCV's 35th Anniversary, a very generous donor will match all donations up to $3,500, but only if 35 new MCV supporters sign to give monthly by the last day of summer, September 22nd.

MCV holds elected officials accountable. In addition to publishing the Environmental Scorecard, we alert the media and people across the state when elected officials take positive action and when they put our environment and climate at risk.

MCV protects Maine’s democracy. MCV advocates for policy initiatives that modernize Maine’s election system. MCV works to ensure that those who have been marginalized vote and secure leadership roles in our government.

MCV supports transformative laws for Maine through collective action. Annually, Maine Conservation Alliance, our sister organization, convenes the Environmental Priorities Coalition (36 conservation, environmental, racial equity, and public health organizations) to support policies that will cut carbon pollution and protect our environment–all under the umbrella of equity and justice.
