Team —
Ilhan has been hard at work in Congress to pass a Build Back Better Act that meets the moment we’re in. She promised to deliver big, bold solutions, and one major result is an amendment that just passed the Education and Labor committee. Here’s what it will do:
-Feed more kids and prevent child hunger through expansion of child nutrition programs
-Relieve the burden of unaffordable child care by lowering costs and providing universal pre-K
-Take steps to remove barriers to higher education by funding two years of tuition-free community college and securing federal student aid eligibility for Dreamers
-Expand job training programs to help more workers secure good-paying jobs
We can finally make historic investments in good-paying jobs, education, tackling climate change, and universal child care — and tax the wealthy to make sure they pay their fair share. Workers, families, and educators are counting on transformative solutions like these, and it’s important to follow through, especially when so many people are still facing economic fallout from COVID-19.
Democrats have a mandate from the people to bring about bold, progressive change, so Ilhan is calling for Congress to pass the full, $3.5 trillion Build Back Better Act, including this life-changing amendment. If you agree, add your name to support this once-in-a-generation investment in workers and families.
