John -- In some of our target states, conservative map drawers are already conjuring up some of the most gerrymandered maps we’ve ever seen.

This week in Ohio, the Republican-controlled Ohio Redistricting Commission passed maps that give Republicans supermajorities in the state legislature -- even though Republicans only won just 54% of the statewide vote share in the last decade.

A.G. Holder warned that conservative map drawers would manipulate the process and the final maps if we don’t speak out -- that’s why we want to provide you with ways to fight for a fair redistricting now that we’re in the thick of the map-drawing process.

1. Sign our Freedom to Vote Act petition

On Tuesday, the Senate introduced the Freedom to Vote Act -- the next iteration of comprehensive democracy reforms. This piece of legislation includes important redistricting reforms like a congressional partisan gerrymandering ban.
