John,
Once every ten years, legislators use census data to redraw the lines of districts from which public officials are elected.
When conducted fairly, redistricting reflects changes in population and ensures that everyone is fairly represented. But it can also be used to manipulate the outcome of elections—called gerrymandering—undermining our democracy and stifling the voice of voters.
For Truth to Power, that means that the districts of the candidates we sent to Congress in 2020—and the ones we’re hoping to send to Congress in 2022—may change, disrupting everything from what district a candidate is in to who their opponents are to the balance of power between Democrats and Republicans on the federal level.

When all is done, the results of redistricting will have consequences for years to come. Districts could change, and we have to be ready for every scenario, including: gaining new constituents who aren’t familiar with Truth to Power candidates; adding more voters who disagree with our progressive values; or facing new opponents funded by shady corporate PACs and wealthy lobbyists.
Thank you,
Truth to Power PAC
