I know it’s a Sunday, but I wanted to write you today with a quick update on where things stand in Congress before we’re back in session tomorrow.
I know it’s a Sunday, but I wanted to write you today with a quick update on where things stand in Congress before we’re back in session tomorrow.
Here’s the deal: After several rounds of committee hearings and negotiations on the scope of the Build Back Better Act — a $3.5 trillion bill that invests in climate action, health care, paid leave, child care, universal pre-K, housing, and so much more — the House will begin voting again this week.
Here’s the problem: Corporate America and Big Pharma don’t like that we’re asking them to pay their fair share in taxes to support these bold and transformative investments in working people. They’re working overtime and spending lots of money to stop our momentum — and to stop Medicare expansion and long-overdue climate action.
I’m no stranger to tough fights. We’ve been here before. But to be blunt — if we fail to meet this moment and deliver on the passage of the Build Back Better Act, we’re letting down the millions of Americans who delivered the House, the Senate, and White House to Democrats.
If you’re still with me in the fight to go big and bold on a spending package that fully invests in working people, can you chip in $3 or whatever you can afford to our campaign today? This fight is far from over — and with your help today, I’m going to continue putting the pressure on my colleagues to come together to get this done:
Chip in $3 »
In solidarity,
