John -- On Tuesday, the Senate introduced the Freedom to Vote Act -- the next iteration of comprehensive democracy reforms. There's a lot to like about this bill, but the anti-gerrymandering provisions are key.

If passed into law, the Freedom to Vote Act would:

1. Ban partisan gerrymandering.

2. Strengthen protections for communities of color.

3. Require states to adopt transparent and fair congressional redistricting processes by holding public hearings, accepting public input, and adhering to transparency requirements.

President Obama said the Freedom to Vote Act would “strengthen our democracy.” If you agree with President Obama, sign this petition to help show your strong support for this legislation.
