Welcome to another edition of FT Now! After another important week of
news across the country, it's time to dive in! First up, President
Biden's plummeting approval rating could spell trouble for New Jersey
Gov. Phil Murphy and Virginia's Terry McAuliffe. Next, Nebraska Gov.
Pete Ricketts slammed President Biden over his recently announced
unconstitutional vaccine mandate. Last up, Arizona became the first
state to file a lawsuit against the Biden Administration challenging the
same vaccine mandate.

Opinion: Biden's polling dip threatens Virginia's McAuliffe and New
Jersey Gov. Murphy

What Happened:

With President Biden's approval rating in freefall after a month
characterized by the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal and a resurgence
in COVID-19, Virginia's Terry McAuliffe and New Jersey Gov. Phil
Murphy may have more trouble in their upcoming gubernatorial elections.

Why You Should Care:

According to the latest Quinnipiac poll, President Biden's approval
now sits at just 42% - a dramatic decrease from even a couple months
ago. As the gubernatorial elections tighten in Virginia and New Jersey,
it is likely that national discontent with the White House boils over to
these crucial races.

Nebraska Gov. Ricketts rails against vaccine mandate: Biden 'pretty
ignorant of what's going on'

What Happened:

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts slammed President Biden this week over his
vaccine mandate for companies with more than 100 employees.

Why You Should Care:

Gov. Ricketts pointed out that he completely supports people getting
vaccinated, but is opposed to the government forcing citizens to take
it: "...Somebody shouldn't have to make the choice between keeping
their job and getting a jab in the arm. I mean, it's just wrong."

What Happens Next:

Gov. Ricketts and numerous other Republican governors have already begun
coordinating with their state attorney generals and will challenge the
White House's rule immediately.

Arizona sues Biden administration over COVID-19 vaccine mandate

What Happened:

the Biden Administration's newest vaccine mandate this week.

Why You Should Care:
