I have recently started a project called Educate Immigration, inspired by a day that I spent with Border Angels in Tijuana. Educate Immigration is an effort to provide educational materials to displaced children - asylum seekers - stranded south of the US/Mexican border.
People in migrant shelters aren't able to work or attend school, making for an endless period of waiting with no day to day stimulation. Children are not only desperate for homes - but for something entertaining to focus their attention. Books and activities engage their minds and keep them excited about learning, as well as giving them hope during a difficult time.
I look forward to gathering these books and supplies and bringing them to Tijuana with the Border Angels Caravan of Love.
By going to my Amazon Wishlist you can donate books and school supplies, which I will bring to these children. Please help to give them a better future.

The Mobile School project was born from the collaboration between two humanitarian aid organizations Border Angels and The Schoolbox Project. As you may know, Border Angels sponsors ~15 shelters in Tijuana, MX serving migrant families who often spend many months waiting for asylum hearings and next steps. The shelters house hundreds of children, many of whom have spent months, if not years outside of the school system - if they were able to attend in their home countries at all. https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-mobile-school-project

Friendship Park: Connecting Undocumented Families Across the Border
For DACA recipients, it can be hard not to be able to travel back to their home countries to visit family but there is one place in San Diego that makes connecting with family easy. Right at the border, between Tijuana and San Diego, is Friendship Park and it's become a destination site for families to come together and reunite, despite the barriers in place.
