Dear John,
According to Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, abortion isn’t just acceptable, it’s something to be celebrated.
They praise abortion – the deliberate killing of a preborn child – as a hallmark of “women’s empowerment,” “control,” “bodily autonomy,” and “choice.” And they do so while completely writing off the preborn child as only a “clump of cells” or “pregnancy tissue.”
Sound familiar? I’m sure you’ve heard each one of these messages used in your family, your workplace, or even your church.
But these messages completely ignore the truth of abortion. They dehumanize innocent life in the womb. And they hide the lasting impact abortion can have on the mom, dad, and entire family.
The fact is that preborn children are human beings made in the image of God. They have value and dignity that come from our Creator. And they deserve protection just as much as life outside of the womb.
It’s also very clear that abortion regret is real. The pain and heartache from a past abortion can destroy relationships and families. It can reveal itself immediately or take years to rise to the surface.
Unfortunately, I have experienced abortion regret firsthand.
Nearly 30 years ago, when my wife and I were engaged, we took some bad advice and made the horrible decision to go to a Planned Parenthood clinic and take the life of our first daughter.
It was a long journey for us. It involved counseling, repentance, and healing over many years. And while we know that we’ve been forgiven, the pain of that decision never goes away.
