The Balter Bulletin - Tuesday, October 22, 2019 |
Friends,
Last week, we lost a true champion of justice. Representative Elijah Cummings served as a beacon of hope and decency in times of darkness. He exemplified the true meaning of public service -- an urgency to improve our country always characterized by moral clarity, compassion, and love.
May we live up to his example.

Days of Democratic Action
|
Earlier this month, I was in Rochester on the picket line with the workers striking at the General Motors plant. You might be thinking, "Why would you go to Rochester? It's not in NY-24." You'd be right, but an attack on workers somewhere is an attack on workers everywhere.
While the corporation rakes in tens of billions and its executives bask in millions on millions, the workers have been left out to dry. Our government bailed out GM -- it's time the workers get their fair share. I will ALWAYS stand in solidarity with workers and unions, wherever they are. Stay strong. 💪
Building Safe Communities Together |
Thank you to Clifford Ryan and Mike Montes from OG's Against Gun Violence for putting on an exceptional Syracuse Violence Reduction Expo on Saturday.
It was a powerful event that showcased all the anti-violence work that's happening in Syracuse. Together, we can build a thriving city that is safe for everyone. OG's is leading the way on that vision, and I'm proud to stand with them every chance I have.
Our Grassroots Movement is Strong |
Our grassroots movement in Oswego is as strong as ever. Thank you to everyone who showed up at our house party! The contrast between our campaign and John Katko’s couldn't be more clear. While he avoids his constituents at every turn, we are showing up in every corner of NY-24 -- and genuinely listening.
Last week, 25 people came to our house party in Southern Cayuga!
I've always rejected the orthodoxy that claims there are red towns and blue towns, liberal areas and conservative ones. From the lakeshore of Sodus to the farmlands of Scipio, people are showing up in force for our movement to take our government back.
Across central and western New York, we're united by our desires to live healthy, safe, successful lives. That's what these crowds show. We're in this together, and we're going to win.
