John:

Trump just compared the impeachment inquiry to a “lynching,” and Republicans are defending him.

Lyndsey Graham called it “a lynching in every sense.”

Newt Gingrich just told The View’s audience that Trump was right and that the black women on their panel should “put yourself in Trump’s shoes.”

There’s no excuse for this.

Trump and his cronies in Congress are using the history of terrorism against black people in this country to fire up their base. Help us send a message to these white supremacists that their racism is unacceptable.

Coming from the president who took out a New York Times ad demanding the execution of young black men for a crime they did not commit, calling an investigation a “lynching” is not just vile--it’s deeply offensive.

Look, we are never going to stop white supremacists like Trump from saying idiotic, racist things like this. But what we can do is make sure that they don’t have the power of the presidency and the Senate behind them anymore to turn his racism into policy.

We’ve got a plan to stop Trump. We’re building real political power in key battleground states to make sure that he loses in places he’s counting on to win in 2020, and we’re taking on the big task of organizing even in places where he won in 2016. We’re not just fighting Trump--we’re fighting to stop the next Trump and heal the wounds he’s torn open in our culture.

At People’s Action, we are true believers in a vision of a vibrant, multiracial, democratic society. We’re fighting to make it happen from the ground up. If you stand with us, we’re going to pull the rug out from under Trump in places where he least expects it.

Stand with us today.

Sincerely,

Bree Carlson
