Dear John,

It’s autumn! The blackberries are ripe. The leaves are beginning to change colour. The kids are back in school and the TDs are back in the Dáil … which makes it time for a new “term” of climate campaigning for Stop Climate Chaos too! We're kicking things off with an Autumn Series of webinars and online workshops.

Our first webinar in this new series is called “Climate Campaigning: What’s next?” and takes place next Tuesday 21st September from 7pm to 8.15pm.

This summer saw the Climate Bill finally become law and the IPCC issue its starkest scientific warning yet: a "code red for humanity" as the UN Secretary General put it. Tuesday's webinar will survey the climate policy and campaigning landscape ahead of us. Our panel of speakers will also identify issues and areas where climate campaigners can now focus their energy.

Our second event in the Autumn Series takes place on Monday 27th September. This workshop is aimed at people who are involved in local climate action groups, such as the One Future groups that the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition supports with Friends of the Earth. It will explore how to build better dynamics within your group - for happier, healthier and more sustainable campaigning.

We’ll have further events in October to examine the new climate action plan and dig into some climate justice issues in the lead up to the COP26 international climate talks. You can read more about each event here [[link removed]]. We’ll also be in touch again as more events are added to the series over the coming weeks.

This Autumn Series of events is taking place under the “One Future” banner. One Future is the network of local climate campaign groups supported by Friends of the Earth and Stop Climate Chaos. It is the network to join if you want to take the next step in your climate campaigning after emailing your TDs. It connects you with other people in your area who are concerned about climate change and gives you the chance to work together to do something about it.

The webinars and workshops in the One Future Autumn series are open to everyone, whether you are a member of a local One Future group or not. But running these activities under the One Future banner means we’ll be highlighting opportunities for you to connect with One Future members in your local area. We’ll also highlight opportunities for you to put pressure on your local TDs to deliver on their climate action promises.

Joining these events will give you a nice taste of One Future in action - it might even inspire you to join your local One Future group!

Hoping to see you this autumn.

In solidarity,

Deirdre
