John,
We need to get dirty energy out of the Build Back Better Act.
The House Ways & Means Committee just advanced a massive budget reconciliation funding bill that’s part of the Build Back Better Act. The act would invest $3.5 trillion in an infrastructure spending package, but it includes massive subsidies for the fossil fuel industry.
As climate-driven fires and floods ravage our country, giving away billions of dollars in direct subsidies to the fossil fuel industry is unconscionable. Send an urgent message to Congress today: Get dirty energy out of the Build Back Better Act!

As it stands, the Build Back Better Act will further increase our dependence on dirty energy, and prop up the very industries that are creating the climate crisis and devastating frontline communities. Getting dirty energy out of this bill is an urgent priority!
We have a chance to fix this massive funding bill before it passes, but we need public pressure to help convince our members of Congress to stop wasting money on dirty energy proposals. We must also reject dirty industry scams like carbon capture and storage, fossil hydrogen, dangerous nuclear power and dirty biofuels.

John, now is the time to halt dirty energy scams, not encourage decades more of them. Urge your members of Congress to oppose dirty energy handouts in the Build Back Better Act, and then please share the action on social media!

The handouts to the fossil fuel industry in this bill are a distraction from the real actions we need to address the climate crisis. Instead of giving money to polluters, we need to end new fossil fuel infrastructure, rapidly phase out fossil fuels and transition to real, clean renewable energy.
Together, we need to stand against polluting fossil fuel corporations and stand up for a livable planet now. We can’t allow more handouts for fossil fuel polluters -- not one more dollar.
Tell Congress to oppose dirty energy handouts and prioritize a liveable climate future.
