Hi,
Most people in the world don’t think about trash or plastic
pollution problems. For others, landfills and dump sites in
their backyards leave them no choice. Wilderness suffers, marine life
is devastated and even our own health is harmed by waste in our
communities.
As an EARTHDAY.ORG supporter, you recognize that limiting our
footprint on the planet through actions such as picking up trash is
critical to protecting our environment. With our partners, this World
Cleanup Day we’re mobilizing millions of volunteers worldwide to pick
up tons of trash and act on behalf of the world’s health.
Cleanups are often the first environmental action many
people take. In 1970, 10-year-old Mary Lou took part in an
Earth Day cleanup that sparked a lifelong commitment to safeguarding
the environment. Today, she runs a shoreline cleanup group using
cleanups as an educational tool and is a climate leader in her
community.
The Great Global Cleanup is just one of EARTHDAY.ORG’s campaigns
that protect the planet. Will you amplify your commitment to our planet with a
donation to support these programs?
EARTHDAY.ORG’s programs drive solutions to global
environmental problems. The Great Global Cleanup draws
millions of people every year onto the path of environmentalism.
Through climate literacy, we can teach the next generation the skills
they need to address waste management, plastic pollution and climate
change. The Canopy Project works to Restore Our Earth through
reforestation. Advocacy work harnesses the power of your individual
voices to effect policy change.
This World Cleanup Day, you can make a difference in the fight for
our planet. Please give to the movement — together we will change
the world.
For all of us,
Kathleen Rogers President
