We'll be frank. There are two possibilities for what happens over the next couple of months.
Possibility One: People decide it's too hard to fight Republican gerrymandering. They assume it's a done deal, especially in states like Texas and Florida where the GOP controls redistricting. Folks like you don't donate, don't show up to hearings, and don't hold their elected officials accountable. The result? Rigged maps that lead to a Republican takeover of the U.S. House, more voter suppression laws, and more bans on abortion and protesting. One-party rule.
Possibility Two: Folks like you refuse to give up without a fight. You give what you can. Fair maps advocates show up in key states and demand to be heard. The Senate passes election reform legislation and President Biden signs it into law. The 2022 elections are fair. Democrats are able to advance the policies America needs, from improving health care to tackling climate change to reducing gun violence.
It really is that simple. A few months back President Obama said that "I believe activism will prevail over cynicism." Will you help prove him right? Will you chip in today to help us demand fair maps?
