Africa & Europe
Pray for a widow in Uganda who continues to face revictimization from a man who has terrorized her entire village. The widow was held in prison for almost a year on false charges, and we are praising God that IJM was able to get her out on bail at last. Pray for her as she continues to pursue the case to protect her land rights, and pray for IJM’s partner, Redeem International, who will be stepping in to support her case.
Latin America
Pray for our IJM Dominican Republic team as they prepare for an upcoming panel discussion on child marriage. September is Trafficking Awareness Month in the country, and many development and justice workers are coming together. Please pray for wisdom and discernment for the speakers as they prepare their speeches, and for all our partners in the Dominican Republic working to end child marriage and other forms of trafficking against the most vulnerable.
South Asia
Praise God for a local public prosecutor who just passed 100 convictions in child abuse cases! IJM has been honored to work closely with this courageous woman over the last five years. We are so encouraged by her pursuit of justice and her enduring compassion for kids. It’s painful to see so many cases of children who have been abused and exploited, but we are grateful to God for leaders like this prosecutor who are stepping up to protect children better every day. Please continue to pray for this woman’s success and safety, and for God’s blessings in her life.
Southeast Asia
Please pray for our IJM Philippines team as they prepare for Freedom Sunday! Our teams will begin mobilizing churches to participate in Freedom Sunday and encouraging their congregations to join IJM in the fight for freedom. Pray that the team will find strong partners to come alongside them in prayer and support as they care for survivors of online sexual exploitation.
