Today marks one year since the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader
Ginsburg.

We remember today what her loss signified – and how it continues to impact
our feminist movement, the Supreme Court, and the trajectory of our
country.

In the wake of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing, thousands of Women’s
Marchers gathered across the country in their communities to honor the
life and legacy of the notorious RBG. Together, we showed the world that
this movement is more committed and fired up than ever to carry on the
fight for justice and equality that RBG led for so long.

However, it became immediately clear on that very same day that there were
immense challenges ahead of us.

While our movement mourned her loss, Republicans went straight to work.

Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their cronies didn’t even wait an hour
before they made the announcement that they would rush another
ultra-conservative Justice onto the Supreme Court and dishonor RBG’s dying
wish for the 2020 presidential election winner to choose her replacement.
Soon afterwards, Trump officially nominated Amy Coney Barrett and rushed
her confirmation in an effort to enact an ultra-conservative majority on
our Supreme Court before the election.

So our movement went straight to work to plan a nationwide mobilization
before the election to inspire the women-led coalition we needed to win.

Together, we sent a loud message that women were ready to put an end to
Trump’s administration, and we harnessed our collective power to mobilize
a record number of women before the election. And we won.

Now, we are called again to rally on October 2 to resist against the most
dire attacks on abortion access and our reproductive rights we’ve seen in
our lifetimes.

These past years have taught us that there’s nothing more powerful — and
nothing more unstoppable — than women organizing together for justice and
equity.
