UPDATE FROM CNN: Biden blasts Texas' 6-week abortion ban as 'extreme' and violation of a constitutional right

Democratic leaders, including President Biden, have called Texas' near abortion ban "unconstitutional" – but SCOTUS refuses to take action. Now, Democrats are fighting back. The House is just 2 days away from voting on legislation that would PROTECT reproductive rights and the DOJ has filed an EMERGENCY motion to block enforcement of the law.

This is frightening, team. Recently, the Supreme Court let the most extreme abortion ban in the country take effect in Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott’s egregious law prohibits abortions as early as six weeks – before many people know they are pregnant. It also allows private citizens to SUE anyone who helps people access abortion – and collect a $10,000 bounty.

With a 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, Republican-led states across the country are pursuing similar policies. But Democrats are stepping up. President Biden blasted the law as "clearly unconstitutional." Now, the DOJ has filed an emergency motion to stop its enforcement and Nancy Pelosi has scheduled a House vote on a bill that would strike down current state restrictions on abortion and prevent states from imposing new ones!

Protecting reproductive rights is one of the most important issues we face. 8 in 10 Americans agree that abortion should be legal. But with it under attack in Texas and across the nation, and Roe v.
