Dear Friend,
This week marks the 20th anniversary of the
formation of the ANSWER Coalition.?
ANSWER was formed on September 14,
2001, 3 days after the September 11 attacks. It was formed by those of
us who knew that the Bush administration would cynically manipulate
the grief and anger of the people in the United States to launch a
wider series of wars in the Middle East. We felt with certainty that
Iraq was going to be invaded and that the neocon administration in the
White House saw that only as step number one. Their goal was to carry
out regime change military operations in Syria, Libya, and Iran. For
the past two decades, the ANSWER Coalition has been a consistent
antiwar force in the United States opposing U.S. military occupations,
bombings, and sanctions against targeted countries, building
solidarity with the people of Palestine, and effectively organizing
opposition to racial and religious profiling at home.
We could only have done this work because of the
commitment of thousands of volunteers and with the financial support
from those people of conscience who believed that building opposition
to war and racism should be a top priority. Please consider making a
donation so we can continue this critical
work.
In this anniversary
week, we have included the following links which contain important
current and archival information about the ANSWER Coalition and the
U.S. antiwar movement:?

Coalition National Director, Brian Becker's interview on national
television in 2001 on why ANSWER was formed, and why it was organizing
demonstrations 18 days after the September 11 attacks. Click here to watch the interview.?

11," an episode of The Socialist Program:?Click here to watch the episode.

call out the hypocrisy of criticism by the U.S. and shed light on the
reality of Cuba and its powerful example that should be
