Friend,
Today, another election denialist
“rally” is coming to our nation’s capitol, and once again Americans
are expecting and preparing for violence. Let us pray that today is
not a repeat of the horrific and violent January 6th attack on
democracy which the marchers have assembled to glorify.
Ostensibly, they’re demanding
“justice” for the January 6th insurrectionists. But their notion of
justice bears zero resemblance to the actual thing. They want
impunity. They want absolution. They want us to justify their crimes
against liberty and democracy.
But that isn’t justice, and it
definitely isn’t patriotic.
The January 6th defendants are
getting their due process, as is their right. But Donald Trump,
Marjorie Taylor Green, Matt Gaetz and the other pro-authoritarian
extremists behind this effort have a much different goal — the
subversion of democracy by conspiracy.
That is where we must stand up, Friend. We must protect
liberty and democracy from the pro-authoritarian radicals seeking
power.
Part of our mission is to not only
defend our elections, but to push back against the lies which radicals
use to discredit them. It begins with telling the truth about January
6th, the effort to overthrow our elections, and the responsibility of
many current elected Republicans in fomenting and participating in
those efforts.
The 2022 elections are on the
horizon, and many of the worst offenders in the GOP will be on the
ballot. Their plan is to push out the responsible Republicans who
stood against the insurrection and voted to impeach. Our plan is to
evict the conspiracists and insurrectionists instead. Help us clean
(the) House.
