Donald Trump is trying to whitewash history, John.

In his latest tweet, he compared impeachment to lynching. Seriously:

I cannot express enough how offensive it is to see the President of the United States compare lynching to impeachment.

Lynchings are terrorism. One of the most racist, cruel, and horrendous acts of mob violence repeated over and over again in America history killing thousands of African Americans across our country.

You are not being lynched, Mr. President.

You are being held accountable to the law by elected representatives who made a sworn promise to protect our country from crooks like you. And you better believe we’ll continue doing whatever it takes to stop your dangerous agenda from harming any more people.
