Warren Buffett once famously said that someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.

When it comes to growing an economy in the desert, it's all about planting trees. Can't get too much shade out here. Though we don't spend a lot of time sitting around.

The latest numbers out of the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity show the trees we've planted are definitely taking root. Arizona is experiencing the third fastest job recovery in the nation: 325,000 private sector jobs since April 2020.

After the challenges of the past year and a half, numbers like this are a solid indication that Arizona is headed in the right direction. As Governor Ducey summed it up, "Arizona's recovery is in full swing."
