Friend,
This past week, New Hampshire Young Republicans held a phenomenal social event in Manchester, NH. Being that our Republican youth are the future of our political party, it is important that we not only include them, but engage them. I hope everyone will continue to reach out to the “Young Republicans” within their community and encourage them to attend one of our upcoming events.
Speaking of events, we are only a few weeks away from our annual Amos Tuck dinner, and I want to make sure you don’t miss out on this terrific event. We still have some tickets available so don’t wait to purchase yours! You can buy tickets HERE.
As Maggie Hassan stands in solidarity with President Biden, New Hampshire Republicans are taking action to protect Granite Staters from invasive federal overreach.
The efforts of Attorney General John Formella to protect NH residents is not only appropriate, but necessary, as D.C. Democrats look to infringe upon our constitutional rights. Formella’s firm stand for freedom mirrors Governor Sununu’s consistently strong stand against the power-grabs of the far-left authoritarian administration of Joe Biden.
I echo Attorney General Formella’s sentiment in saying that Biden’s one-size-fits-all approach is not only a massive overstep, but counter-productive in combating COVID-19. I myself decided to be vaccinated when the option was available, but I would never force such compliance upon those who are unvaccinated. In times like these we must find empathy for our fellow Americans and rally behind the freedoms on which our country was founded. I applaud Attorney General Formella and Governor Chris Sununu for leading New Hampshire against President Biden’s vaccine mandate, and I implore our Federal Delegation to awaken to the reality and join us in opposition - be sure to send them an email and let them know you’re in agreement with the NHGOP’s sentiment!

While the order itself appears to be confusing in terms of implementation and enforcement, Speaker Packard made it clear that the Legislature was on New Hampshire’s citizens’ side and would fight against this latest overreach coming out of Washington, D.C.
As members of the leadership team stepped up to speak, each emphasized the importance of medical freedom, medical privacy and leaving the decision to get vaccinated up to individuals and businesses based on their own circumstances.
This week, Speaker Packard filed legislation to help prevent federal overreach, protect our citizens, and prevent worker shortages should this mandate take place. LSR 2022-2262, prohibiting state or local enforcement of federal vaccine mandates, is currently being drafted, and will be released upon completion and approval. Speaker Packard’s proposed legislation is one of many similar pieces of legislation from Republican House members filed this week.
“The end goal is to find a workable solution to this latest development out of Washington that is evolving as we all learn more about the mandate, its mechanisms and potential rollout,” Speaker Packard said. “In the interim, we ask all constituents to reach out to our United States Senators, their Member of Congress and State Representative and ask them to speak out against this tyrannical policy that would displace thousands of workers and devastate our economy. We have made it clear that government mandates are not the path to successful vaccination rates and will only cause further division in this country.”

The New Hampshire Federation of College Republicans is the officially chartered state organization for College Republicans all over the state of New Hampshire. With chapters at Saint Anselm College, Plymouth State, UNH, SNHU, Dartmouth, Franklin Pierce, and Keene State, the NHFCR has representation for a wide swath of the state. Executive board members include Chairman Ben Mickens, Executive Director Joseph LaCreta, Vice-Chair for CD1 Nate Twarog, Vice-Chair for CD2 John Michitson, Treasurer Kevin Chrisom, and Secretary Jessica Long. Our chapters are driven to keep college students engaged with conservative politics by bringing speakers to campus, presenting students with conservative internship opportunities in the state, and doing grassroots campaigning. The Federation board looks forward to helping get our chapters to a post-COVID reality while we work to keep Republican leadership in Concord as we push for Republican leadership in DC.
