ONE NATION'S AYERS ROCK PROPOSAL SPARKS OUTRAGE

The media had a mini-meltdown this week when One Nation leader Pauline Hanson gave her opinion on the proposed Ayers Rock climbing ban. Namely, that a ban is ridiculous, the reasons given for the ban don’t add up and Ayers Rock should be open to all Australian regardless of race.

Prior to speaking about the issue on her regular Today Show segment, Senator Hanson had written to the indigenous Minister and asked him to speak with those responsible for implementing the ban about whether they had considered the negative flow on effects the ban would have on jobs and the economy of the region.

Following the segment, which you can watch in full below, a firestorm erupted.

The usual accusations of insensitivity and racism went flying.

A number of so called journalists even claimed that Senator Hanson shouldn’t be allowed to speak on the issue because she was white!

Unsurprisingly, no one on the left side of politics seemed to notice the hypocrisy of telling a person they can or can’t do something because of the colour of their skin, while at the same time accusing them of being racist.

The old saying “when you point your finger at someone, three fingers end up pointing back at you” comes to mind.

Never one to be deterred, Senator Hanson continued to make her point, that the Rock should stay open and to close it would do untold damage to the communities who rely on the tourism it generates.
If this poll of nearly 60,000 people run by the Courier Mail is anything to go by it seems most Australians agree with her.

QUEENSLAND DREAM TEAM

One Nation’s Malcolm Roberts was on the road this week visiting One Nation’s member for Mirani, Stephen Andrew.

How good is it to see One Nation representatives on a state and federal level working together for the benefit of their state?

While he was there, Malcolm got to speak with Stephen about his family history and how seeing as Andrew was the first person of South Sea Islander descent to be elected to Queensland  Parliament, it is a little amusing that so many still try to label One Nation as some sort of racist organisation.

Malcolm and Stephen also talked about the damage being done to businesses as a result of Government over regulation and over taxation.

Both of these videos and more can be found on their Facebook pages:

FIXING FAMILY LAW
One Nation’s quest to fix Australia’s broken family law system made good ground this week with Senator Hanson announcing she will be pursuing a special parliamentary inquiry into the matter.

This is the power of having elected representatives in parliament. Remember it was only as a result of One Nation’s successful Senate inquiry into dodgy banking practices that the Government was forced to hold a Royal Commission into the banks.

A good explanation of how the inquiry would work and what it would entail was provided to the Australian, the resulting article can be read below:

One Nation will also be holding a Family Law and Child Support Community Forum in Western Australia. This initiative is being spearheaded by One Nation’s Western Australian state leader Colin Tincknell.

There will be guest speakers from around Australia. This will include experts in family law and child support plus special guest, Senator Pauline Hanson.

More details can be found below.

That's your recap from One Nation this week.

While you're here, we'd love to ask a favour. We are a party with fewer resources than Labor with their union donations and the Liberals with their big corporates, but with your help and by listening to the people, we can achieve real change in parliament for the betterment of the country.

One Nation is run on purely grass roots support. We rely on the contributions of mums, dads, daughters and sons from the top to bottom of Australia to stay running as a party and every dollar counts.

We appreciate times are tough but even a small amount of support makes a difference. Your help enables us to keep up the fight in politics and get Australia back on track.
