Like many who grew up in my community, my son and I developed asthma.
Between oil drilling and other pollution, asthma has become so common because the Central Valley’s air quality is so bad.
But unfortunately my community isn’t the only constituency that suffers from climate inaction. Recent reports detail that nearly a third of Americans experienced a natural disaster this summer.
This should be a no-brainer: We need to tackle climate change with the immediacy it deserves.
Yet Republican legislators like Devin Nunes -- bought and owned by the oil lobby -- will obstruct our progress at every turn.
We can’t stay complacent as we watch this planet literally burn. So I’m counting on 5,000 Democrats to stand with me and demand climate action now.
