John,
This week marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, which celebrates our culture and diversity, a source of strength and wellspring of unity.
As the first Democratic Latina elected Governor in the United States, I am so proud to celebrate New Mexico's centuries of Hispanic heritage, which is a bedrock of our state's history.
New Mexico's Hispanic communities include some of the world's most celebrated authors, artists, business leaders, and activists. These inspirational leaders have left an indelible mark on our national identity, their works helping to define the American experience.
This month provides an opportunity to not only celebrate Hispanic culture but to reflect on our ongoing work toward justice and equality. As Governor, I'm following in the footsteps of Hispanic leaders before me by working to promote equity in every sector of life in New Mexico.
This month – and every day of the year – I'll continue to celebrate the diversity of our minority-majority state, which is a unifying force, an agent of strength, and a great source of pride.
