Friend, we are facing the biggest threat to Roe v. Wade in our lifetimes, and Sen. Chuck Grassley couldn’t be more thrilled. In fact, in a recent interview, Sen. Grassley vowed to defend Texas' abortion ban as a quarter of Republican-led states are likely to introduce legislation that mirrors it.

Voters sent a majority of Democrats to Congress and elected Joe Biden as president for a reason: to act, and to stand up for the issues that matter. The vast majority of Americans support safe, legal abortion care, and it's time for Congress to guarantee it. So today, our team is asking you to sign our petition urging Congress to codify Roe v. Wade into law. With national Republicans like Sen. Grassley defending Texas' abortion ban, it's incumbent on all of us to act with urgency to protect reproductive rights.

Since his very first term in the Senate, Sen. Grassley has done everything he can to take away the right to choose. He's pushed constitutional amendments to outlaw abortion, backed abortion bans and voted to defund Planned Parenthood. You name it, Sen. Grassley’s been there, leading the anti-choice charge.

When Sen. Grassley's efforts in the Senate came up short, he turned his focus to the courts. As then-Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Grassley pulled off his most dangerous stunt yet: blocking Senate consideration of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, and then ramming through Donald Trump's nominations of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

Sen. Grassley's manipulation of the Supreme Court had a direct impact on Texas' abortion ban going into effect. 

This has been the goal of Sen. Grassley and the Republican Party for decades, but we’re not powerless against it.
