Add your name [[link removed]]This bill in Texas criminalizes abortions at 6 weeks and allows vigilantes to sue those attempting to get this medical procedure and anyone else involved in helping them do so, including medical professionals. When the Supreme Court had the chance to strike down this law and uphold the precedent set by Roe v Wade , they declined to do so.
The Texas law will not stop abortions from happening, it will just lead women to get them in unsafe ways. And it will widen the already alarming gap in access to healthcare. Wealthy and privileged women will continue to get the care they need, while women from disadvantaged communities will suffer. We must do everything we can to stand up against this bill and any others that are introduced nationwide.
