1. NATIONAL REVIEW: Anti-CRT Parents Sweep Connecticut School Board Primary, Besting GOP Incumbents

"Five parents bent on keeping critical race theory (CRT) out of the Guilford, Conn. school district swept the Republican school board primary Tuesday night, advancing to the general election in November.

Fending off a challenge from three old-guard Republican incumbents — who the anti-CRT parents accuse of rubber-stamping the racialized curriculum favored by the board’s progressives and the district superintendent — the cabal of five dominated the competition Tuesday, walking away with bids for the November ballot."

"Nearly half of all registered Republicans in Guilford voted in Tuesday’s election, according to Scarpellino.

'The defeat was crushing and sent a very loud message that our town will not be dominated by the woke cancel culture and our kids will be shielded from any and all political indoctrination.' Scarpellino told National Review."

2. BARI WEISS: American Homeschooling Goes Boom

"She’s hardly alone. Wrobel is one of hundreds of thousands of moms and dads across the nation who have decided to become the principals of their very own, very small elementary schools.

The number of kids going to school at home nationwide has doubled over the past two years. In 2019, there were about 2.5 million students learning at home. Today there are nearly 5 million. That means more than 11 percent of American households are educating their children outside of traditional schools."

3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Cooper’s all in on critical race theory

"Even in North Carolina, the rejection of fundamental American principles thunders ahead. The proof? Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed an anti-critical race theory bill on Sept. 10. If one reads the text, it’s hard to imagine political leaders opposing these principles a few years ago. Simply put, the bill works to reinforce the American tenets of equality and our E Pluribus Unum motto.

A common refrain, lawmakers, and advocates for the bill are right to wonder whether Cooper has even read what he opposed. What’s controversial about saying one race or sex is not inherently greater than another?

Certainly, he has read it. Even in a state that Donald Trump won twice; Cooper continues to fully morph into one of the most reliable mouthpieces for the national Democratic Party. One can no longer conjure up a single-issue Cooper disagrees with his party today.

The Republican-led bill didn’t ban the teaching of critical race theory outright. That’s an important point. The sole aim of the bill champions greater transparency in the classroom while elevating the core principles of a color-blind society."

4. THALES COLLEGE: Education with a Vision: A Curriculum Worth Following

"Here’s how the system works and how Thales College, a new college in Raleigh, North Carolina, makes it work better for students. Thales College combines liberal arts and professional undergraduate curricula so that students develop the intellectual ability, meaningful knowledge, moral character, and professional excellence needed to thrive in life and work. The college’s organized course of study stands in sharp contrast to the mix of courses most colleges offer today."

5. FOX NEWS: Ohio mayor warns school board during meeting: Resign or face charges for 'child pornography'

"A mayor in Ohio told all five local school board members to resign during a board meeting or face charges over class material for high schoolers he deemed 'child pornography.'

'It has come to my attention that your educators are distributing essentially what is child pornography in the classroom,' Hudson Mayor Craig Shubert told the Hudson Board of Education during a meeting on Monday.

'I've spoken to a judge this evening. She's already confirmed that. So I'm going to give you a simple choice: You either choose to resign from this board of education or you will be charged,' Shubert added, which was met with cheers from the audience."

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIBERTY

LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.

LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.

Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation's Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1)

"For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." (Galatians 5:13)

"Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God." (1 Peter 2:16)

Amen
