Last Tuesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 1 into law. This will drastically restrict voting rights in the state of Texas by banning drive-through voting and 24-hour voting, among many other things.
Voting restriction laws like S.B.1 are meant to suppress the voices of our neighbors, families, and friends — especially in communities like mine where many are people of color and non-English speakers who can’t take time off to go vote.
I’m fighting to make sure every eligible voter in Texas can make their voice heard without Republicans like Greg Abbott standing in the way. But in order to succeed in this fight, I need all the support to win my race so I can keep defending the right to vote in Texas and beyond. Are you with me, John?

John, voting rights are on the chopping block in Texas. Today, Governor Greg Abbott signed Senate Bill 1 — a bill that limits voting rights in the state significantly — into law.
Senate Bill 1 bans drive-through voting and 24-hour voting that working families depend on to cast their ballots. It also requires ID for mail-in voting, sets new rules for voter assistance, bans and criminalizes the distribution of mail-in ballot applications, and so much more.
This Texas Republican-led bill is a clear attempt to suppress working-class voters and communities of color. But Greg Abbott and his Republican base would rather make it harder for Americans to vote.
That’s why Jessica Cisneros is fighting to ensure that every eligible voter in Texas can make their voices heard without Republican interference.

Republicans claim that this bill will eradicate voter fraud in our elections — but here’s the cold, hard truth: There is absolutely no evidence that there is a widespread voter fraud problem.
They know Texas is on the cusp of turning blue. They will silence every voter who isn’t on board with their conservative agenda so they can win elections and go against the will of the people.
