John: I have some frightening news…

Tomorrow an estimated 700 or more right-wing Trump supporters are expected to show up in D.C. for another rally at the Capitol.

“What could they possibly be protesting this time?” you might be wondering. Well, John, it looks like they are rallying for the so-called “political prisoners,” who have been arrested for their roles in the January 6 insurrection.

We’ve seen how this story goes already, and it isn’t one that any of us want to relive. Those who were arrested for storming the Capitol and attacking police officers on January 6 are NOT political prisoners — these people are domestic terrorists.

Our country and our democracy are under constant attacks by right-wing extremists, but I promise to continue my fight every single day to hold accountable those who continue to threaten our democracy. Republicans have done everything they can to downplay what happened on January 6 — even calling that day a “normal tourist visit” at the Capitol.

Brave Capitol and Metro D.C. police officers risked their lives to protect us from the violent mob who smashed windows and damaged the halls of Congress to try to stop us from certifying the 2020 election.

We feared for our lives, and Republicans are ready to do it all over again tomorrow. We cannot allow behavior like this to continue.
