OutSummit, our annual conference for global LGBTIQ equality, opens for registration today ([link removed]) . OutSummit will be held virtually again this year on December 8-10, 2021, with sessions tailored to different time zones. It's open to everyone interested in learning more about LGBTIQ equality and how to better advance it, from across different sectors and countries.

It's not a coincidence that OutSummit is held around Human Rights Day, marked on December 10th, every year. Too often, in too many places, the human rights of LGBTIQ people are not recognized as such. Over a third of the world's countries still criminalize same-sex relations, only 15 countries recognize trans identities based on self-determination, and only five have nation-wide bans on conversion practices.

OutSummit is where people from across civil society, philanthropy, governments and the private sector, can network with other champions for LGBTIQ equality, learn best practices from around the world, draw attention to the horrific violations that harm our communities, and put their heads together to strategize for progress.

The conference theme this year centers on a basic demand - human rights for LGBTIQ people everywhere! Sessions will cover topics ranging from forming diverse alliances for change, to actions the corporate sector can take to push for LGBTIQ inclusion, from countering backlash against LGBTIQ people, to diving deeper into challenging conversion practices, and many more.
