Friends,

Do you have a few minutes? I’d like to tell you about two brave Texas women running for the House: Gina Ortiz-Jones and Wendy Davis.
  • Gina Ortiz Jones is a first-generation American and former Air Force intelligence officer who would be the first openly LGBTQ member of Congress elected from Texas. Gina’s running in one of the most competitive races of this cycle: Trump lost this district in 2016 by 3.4 points.

  • Wendy Davis is a dedicated public servant who famously held the Texas Senate floor for 13 hours to fight for women’s health care. As a young, teenage mother, Wendy relied on her family and scholarships to put her through community college (and eventually Harvard Law School). Wendy’s running against Ted Cruz’s former chief of staff who won his seat by just 2.6 points in 2018.
Gina and Wendy’s struggles and triumphs are central to who they are—I know they’ll be the kind of bold, compassionate leaders that we desperately need in Congress.

Will you chip in just $25 and make sure Gina and Wendy have the resources to win? If we’re going to hold our House majority and turn Texas blue, we have to give these races all we’ve got. You can use this link: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/gojwdots

With gratitude,
Kirsten
